Dr Bentz was raised in Neosho and graduated from Neosho High School. He attended medical school at the University of Missouri at Columbia and completed an Internal Medicine residency at East Tennessee State University. He practiced medicine at the Freeman Neosho Clinic and worked in the Emergency Room, ICU, and floor of the Neosho Hospital. Dr. Bentz lost his license due to addiction issues in 2004. He has since achieved and maintained sobriety and returned to the practice of medicine in 2022. Dr. Bentz is a great student of medicine, it being not just his occupation, but his hobby. He loves learning new medical skills- his current project being learning ultrasound, including performing and reading echocardiograms. Dr. Bentz is known as a highly compassionate physician who is always available for his patients. He is a great diagnostician and is very skilled in helping those with complex medical conditions. His life experience has left him particularly skilled at helping those with addiction- with whom he is able to have open and very powerful discussions. Dr. Bentz is loved by his patients and recognized in the medical community for his great skill as a physician. Physicians seek him to be their physician. He has ten children and twelve grandchildren with whom he loves spending weekends. He also enjoys automobile restoration and riding motorcycles.
