The idea of Real Health direct primary care came to me after I observed how broken the current healthcare system is. It was frustrating as a doctor when I was so overbooked that patients couldn’t get in to see me for months. I empathized with their frustration as their health issues had advanced over that time without help. I often thought that it would be really great if they could just call me. Insurance companies don’t like that model. They would separate a patient and the doctor with overly complex diagnosis and billing codes. What if someone could get instant care from their doctor when they needed help or just had a question? THAT would be REAL. This was the beginning of Real Health. The mission of Real Health direct primary care is to provide same day access for patients to quickly and easily talk directly to their doctor without all the red tape and billing. Real health happens when patients have access to voice concerns and get things taken care of before they become long term health problems. That only works in a model where a patient can physically pick up a phone and text, call, or FaceTime me. Real Health puts the patient first, not the insurance company. It lets a patient have a Real relationship with their doctor (someone who knows them and their history and family and is not just “the next patient of the day”).
