Rachel Cano DNP, FNP-C is a dedicated and skilled Family Nurse Practitioner with a passion for providing high-quality, patient-centered care. With over a decade of experience in both primary care and women’s health, she has honed her clinical skills in managing acute and chronic conditions, performing in-office procedures, and guiding patients toward healthier lives. Throughout her career, Rachel has worked with underserved populations and works towards implementing strategies for increasing access to care and changing the flaws in healthcare. Known for her compassionate approach, she ensures that every patient feels heard, valued, and confident in their care plan. Before transitioning into family practice, Rachel worked extensively in labor and delivery, serving as a charge nurse and preceptor. She played a vital role in high-risk obstetric care, assisted in complex deliveries, and provided postpartum support. Her dedication to excellence earned her multiple DAISY Awards for Nursing Excellence and several Employee of the Month honors. Rachel holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Baylor University, a Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Houston Baptist University. She is licensed in multiple states, and certified in DOT examinations and the management of TMD/Orofacial pain. As a former military spouse, Dr. Cano, DNP, possesses a deep understanding of the unique needs of veterans and provides experienced, compassionate care to this patient population. A firm believer in mentorship, she enjoys training and precepting NP students, helping shape the future of nursing. Bilingual in Spanish, Rachel is committed to bridging gaps in healthcare by providing culturally competent and accessible care to diverse patient populations. She remains active in professional organizations such as the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses. When she is not providing care, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and photography.
