Nathaniel Arnatt, NP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and the owner of Simply Sweet Health, a Direct Primary Care practice in Locust Grove, Virginia. A native of the Fredericksburg area, Nathaniel grew up in Spotsylvania County and has spent much of his life serving the communities of Central Virginia. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Hampden-Sydney College before answering a calling to healthcare and pursuing a career in nursing. He graduated with honors from Germanna Community College and later earned his Master of Science in Nursing from The George Washington University, where he trained as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Throughout his career, Nathaniel has cared for patients in a wide variety of clinical settings, including family medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine, urgent care, skilled nursing, and hospital-based medicine. Those experiences gave him a broad clinical foundation, but they also reinforced something he believes strongly: good healthcare starts with knowing your patient. That belief ultimately led him to Simply Sweet Health. Nathaniel created his practice around a simpler approach to primary care—fewer barriers, longer visits, easier access, and a genuine relationship between patient and provider. Through the Direct Primary Care model, he is able to care for a smaller group of patients and spend more time listening, educating, and working alongside them to make thoughtful healthcare decisions. His approach is practical and individualized. Rather than treating a laboratory value or diagnosis in isolation, he believes in looking at the whole person and developing a plan that fits the patient’s health, lifestyle, goals, and comfort level. His clinical interests include comprehensive family medicine, preventive care, metabolic health and weight management, and men’s health. Outside of medicine, Nathaniel enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons, hiking, woodworking, music, photography, and getting outdoors whenever possible. For Nathaniel, Simply Sweet Health is more than a medical practice. It represents a return to what primary care was always meant to be: personal, accessible, thoughtful, and centered on the patient.
