Dr. Lyman Wostrel grew up farming and ranching in Nebraska. Prior to pursuing medicine he earned degrees in economics and finance from the University of Nebraska and then studied computer engineering. Dr. Wostrel's previous career included working in the stock market, and as an engineer in the oil industry. He decided to become a physician and attended medical school at the Ross University School of Medicine, where he met his wife, Dr. Lauren Wostrel. He attended residency in California and opened a Direct Primary Care practice with his wife Lauren in 2018. He joined the Free Market Physician staff at the Cassville location in 2024 as an Assistant Physician. Dr. Wostrel is passionate about achieving health through meaningful life changes. He avoids "band-aid" medication prescribing that masks real issues. He loves talking with his patients about lifestyle, exercise, faith, family, and other meaningful determinants of health. He has trained in nouthetic counseling, in which he helps people resolve conflict in their lives with biblical principles. When he is not in the clinic he loves spending time with his three children. He particularly enjoys spending time in the cab of his tractor at his farm.
