Gregory Holton grew up in a retirement neighborhood in East Tennessee, close to his grandmother. He sought a career in medicine and geriatrics after witnessing his family’s health struggles. He finished his undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis, and then medical school, internal medicine residency, and geriatrics fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. He moved to Grand Haven, Michigan in 2018 to be close to his wife’s family. After working in PACE and for Trinity Health, he opened his own Direct Primary Care practice in the fall of 2025. He fell in love with the Direct Primary Care model, because this model allows both the patients and the doctor to thrive. He joined First Primary Care in September 2026 because he’s aligned with the mission: to revolutionize healthcare by focusing on your long-term health and removing all barriers that keep you and your doctor from having a one-on-one relationship.
