Andreas Thyssen, MD

Dr. Thyssen is board certified in Lifestyle Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Pediatric Hospital Medicine. He began practicing in Maine in 2013, a midwestern transplant who’s put down roots with his wife and three children right here in Brunswick. Dr. Thyssen’s passion is in supporting and coaching patients towards lifestyle changes that reverse or prevent chronic medical conditions. For the past ten years, he has worked in large teaching hospitals taking care of adults and children that are too sick to be cared for at home. Over time, he realized that while our healthcare system has become excellent at treating the complications brought on by chronic illnesses like heart disease, stroke, and diabetes, it doesn’t often succeed at looking for or addressing the root cause of the problem. This was his inspiration to start Maine Street Medical!
